All about dogs
So I've been to a little business training session this morning and they've advised that every webpage should have a blog! So I thought I'd start by telling you all about my first dog, Minstrel.
I'd wanted a dog for a long time, but only ever a rescue, this resounded that it was the right thing to do. So in 1995 I set about scouring the local ads for dogs needing homes, this being pre-internet a lot of people probably can't imagine doing that! I saw an ad from the Animal Welfare Trust so made enquiries, I wanted a springer spaniel as I thought they were great family dogs and knew I wasn't allergic to them. They found me one, in Aylesbury. That's about 1 and a half hours drive, but I was happy to do it. So without seeing a photo and knowing very little I popped my 2 kids 5 and 3 years old in my decrepit old fiesta and drove to Aylesbury. We made it and we were handed a very lovely chocolate brown spaniel. He had nothing but a collar, no lead, no bed, no toys..... the lead I had brought with me I then realised, was no good, it was for a chihuaha! So Minstrel jumped into the boot and with the kids in the back we set back off for home. Within a few minutes of driving Minstrel was in the back with the kids, and then on my lap! I pulled over quickly and just happened to stop outside a cottage with a very noisy dog in the front garden! Minstrel then settled down into the passenger footwell and this was his chosen space from then on.
Driving home I managed to miss the M25 turnoff and ended up going through Wembley on what was some cup final day, I ended up at my sisters' house where Minstrel took to marking his territory! We then went to the shops to get him a decent lead.
Minstrel was such an outstanding dog, I have never understood how anyone could have given him up. Having worked with rescues now I get a better idea of where some people end up through no fault of their own and how giving up the dog can be the only solution. I had enormous pleasure in the time I had Minstrel, I count myself lucky that fate brought him to me.

So my short break in the lovely Lake Garda seems a distant memory now - I'm definitely missing the sun and gelato! I'm working hard on a new range of Snuggle sacks for my store, these are super cosy sleeping bags for your furry friends, if your cats anything like mine they'll get in a carrier bag as soon as they see it so why not a fleecy snuggle sack? My range will come with either printed polar fleece or my crate cover fabric as the outer layer, the inner layer is a super soft sherpa or lambswool fleece. As with the other products these are best washed at 30C. Time to sew!

If you've been following me on Facebook or Twitter you'll probably have seen my new range of cat mats, coming soon, they are ideal to fit inside a cat carrier to make those trips to the vet, moving home or other essential travel just a bit more comfortable. As with my DoZeee Dog Beds they are lined with the waterproof, ripstop fabric and then have a lovely soft anti pil polar fleece cover. The fleece is removable and can easily be washed & dried. They'll fit the Ferplast range of cat carriers but can also be made to order.
January 2022
I can't quite believe it's 2022! Weren't we meant to be in flying cars by now! I have been putting off re-opening due to the reduction in fabric suppliers and the increase in prices, however I think it's time for me to refresh the website and re-open and see how it goes. I have been having some trouble with Ebays' new payment policy so for the time being will only be accepting orders direct on my website. That is good news really as it means 1 bespoke site for orders and 1 price, I don't have to pass on nasty excessive ebay fees and you can fill in all the details for your orders before payment. You are still covered by the Paypal agreement. But do make sure your measurements are correct, anything out of the ordinary I will email you to check. Hopefully there will be some local fun dog shows for me to have a pop up stall at this year!
Check out my new product - doggy duvet covers! If your dog is a victim of exploding beds this could be the solution. These are polar fleece covers that you can put a cushion, single duvet or cot bed duvet inside. The polar fleece is super soft and easy to wash, keeping the duvet/cushion inside cleaner for longer. Again no zips for chewing, these are velcro sealed on the underside. If you don't see the style of fleece you are looking for drop me a message and I will try to source it for you. At this price order 2 so you have a spare when one is being washed, they last for ages too so a worthwhile investment!
